Challenge
Players compare launchers on startup time and frame rate before anything else. The client had to feel instant on modest hardware while still shipping cosmetics, accounts and updates through the same surface.
Approach
The launcher, API and store share a single typed contract. The desktop app is kept thin and defers everything it can to the API, which is versioned and cached aggressively. The store is a normal web app that the launcher embeds, so commerce changes never require a client release.

Results
- One design system across launcher, store and website
- Store updates ship independently of the desktop client
- Versioned API with a public surface small enough to document on one page
